Band Finalist
Bert Smith and The Walk

In the words of the great Mississippi bluesman, Muddy Waters, "If you want to know bout the blues, ya gots to go back to church". The blues is a perfect vehicle for delivering a positive message of hope to a hopeless world. This band plays with conviction and inspiration that comes from years of experience. The lyrics will make you think and the music will make you want to get up and dance. Mix in elements of Eric Clapton and B.B. King, some Southern Soul, and a dash of New Orleans funk...with a no compromise message. Throw in some hot guitar work and a driving rhythm section, top it off with the addition of some smokin' chicago blues harp . Shake it all up with vocals like thunder rolling down a gravel road, and what you get is - Bert Smith & The Walk

Feisty female drummer/vocalist Brenda Meyer and her band hit the stage with a variety of Blues, Classic Rock, R&B, and 70's covers in addition to some of their own original material. Brenda began her music career at age 14 playing drums and singing with her first band in Rochester Minnesota. The Full Moon Blues Band out of Springfield MO competed in the local Memphis Bound Competition and represented Lake Of The Ozarks Blues Society in 2008 at The International Blues Competition in Memphis TN. The band also performed at The Greater Ozarks Blues Festival in Springfield MO in 2010. Brenda and the band have shared the stage with acts such as Shaun Murphy, Anthony Gomes, Stoney Curtis, Cee Cee James, Chump Change, Super Chickan, Bernard Allison, and frequently opens for national touring acts performing at Nathan P Murphy's.

The Revival

Brothers and Sisters, are you tired of hearing the same old bands playing the same old songs, week after week? Do you feel like you just might give up the ghost if you hear Mustang Sally or Brown Eyed Girl one more time? Well, we've got the answer to your prayers...The Revival! Started by two former members of popular Mid-West, blues/rock act, Underground Blues Division, The Revival makes it a point to play music you love and AREN'T sick of. In fact, we specialize in playing songs that other bands don't because they're "too hard". After only one month together as a band, The Revival took 2nd place in the Blues Society of the Ozarks, "Memphis Bound" competition, edging out some of the areas most established and well known acts. If you love a wide assortment of music form Zeppelin and The Doors, to Sublime and the Chili Peppers, grab your dancing shoes! We're bringing the gospel of good times to a bar near you...Hallelujah!
This Joplin based band plays a mix of Acoustic blues, folk and original music. This three piece band consists of Mike Snow on guitar, Justin Cauble on guitar and Heather Kearny Morrow on violin.

Three On A Wire

Ewag3 Ewag3 is a rock/hard blues trio out of Springfield, Missouri. Started by Aaron Waggoner(lead vocals and guitar)in August 2010 with the newest line up featuring Pat Jones on bass and Chuck Mitchem on drums, is the best power driven rock/blues band out there in the area today."If Joe Bonamassa had Govt Mule's baby you might call it Ewag3", and outspoken Ewag3 fan says. Face melting guitar solos with a powerful rhythm section makes them a band you wont want to miss when you are in the area. Come see a show today and see what you are missing out on music lovers!
Pioneering a new blend of musical style, SPiNRaD incorporates rock, jazz-fusion, slap funk, and a poetic lyricism indebted to Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay, Steely Dan, and Sting. Touring many venues across the Midwest, their freshman effort, 'Long Sleep the King', sold out within days of release, and their follow-up album, 'Life Returns', is quickly following suit. SPiNRaD is made up of accomplished and experienced musicians who take their love of music seriously, and together are pursuing their highest aspirations. This merge of musical genres produces a distinctive sound that encompasses the complex composition and minor tonality of jazz, the strong, rhythmic syncopation and groove of funk, and the dynamic sound and lyrics that create a strong emotional feel. SPiNRaD delivers an exciting musical experience, both in their albums and live performances, and they hope to make a lasting impression on today's music scene.
SPiNRaD
Work N Progress (WnP) organized in December 2007 but didn't begin performing until the Spring of 2009. The original three members Mark Adkins, Paul Golding, and Randy Smith met through their activities in Church while volunteering for the Worship Team. Another common thread is the fact they're all working guys that just enjoy jamming. The love of live music is what drives them, not the dollar bill. This love for jamming can be heard & felt in their music whether they're playing a bar gig, house party, or just practicing. There's a groove present in every thing they do. WnP covers a wide variety of music styles but their true love is Southern Rock and Blues. The fourth member Jimmy Cunningham solidifies this sound with titillating guitar riffs and solos. In addition to covers, WnP has several rock-solid originals all written by Mark Adkins. Work N Progress
